Ducks Cruise Past Cougars, 92-75

SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) -- Olu Ashaolu scored 23 points and grabbed 10 rebounds as hot-shooting Oregon beat Washington State 92-75 on Thursday in the Pac-12 Conference opener for both teams.
Devoe Joseph added 17 points for Oregon (10-3), which shot 69 percent from the field in winning its fourth straight game.
DaVonte Lacy scored 19 points for Washington State (8-5), which shot 46 percent from the field and saw a six-game winning streak snapped.
Washington State fell behind by 20 at halftime as Oregon shot 71 percent in the first half. Ashaolu had 19 first-half points, while Kingma had nine over the first 20 minutes. Singler and Joseph each added seven points in the first stanza.
For the game, Oregon made 34-of-49 shots, including 9-of-16 3-pointers. The Ducks out-rebounded the Cougars 34-22.
Joseph scored three consecutive baskets as Oregon built a 71-50 lead midway through the second half. At that point the Ducks were shooting 72 percent for the game. The Cougars could not get within single digits the rest of the way.
Oregon will return to action Saturday with a road game against Washington (7-5). Tip-time for the UO-UW contest is set for 7 p.m. (PT) and the game will be televised on ESPN2.

- The Ducks scored a season-high 92 points and made a season-high 69.4 percent of their field goals (34-of-49) and 56.3 percent from behind the 3-point arc (9-of-16). It was the first time since 2007 that UO shot 60 percent or better from the field (63.3 percent vs. Mount St. Mary's on Dec. 28, 2007).
- Oregon improved to 9-1 this season when it shoots for a better percentage than the opponent (UO 69.4 percent – WSU 45.6 percent). The Ducks are 6-0 when they out-rebound the opponent (34-22). Oregon's rebounding margin (+12) was a season-high.
