STOCKTON, Calf. - The No. 13 University of Oregon softball team (10-2) fell to Pacific (6-2) by a 4-2 score in its opener of the Libby Matson Tournament Saturday afternoon.

Freshman infielder Kailee Cuico put UO, 2-0, in the top of the fourth inning with her second homer of the season - a two-out, two-run shot to left field.

The Tigers clawed their way back into the game in the bottom of the sixth after an opening double and single. Their first run scored on a passed ball, then after two more walks loaded the bases, a walk tied the score. A double to right center field accounted for the final two runs of the game.

Duck junior Samantha Skillingstad struck out five, walked three, gave up four hits and one unearned run. Junior Mikayla Endicott (2-1) relieved her in the sixth inning, and allowed one hit, two earned runs and one walk. Junior Brittany Rumfelt pitched to one batter afterwards and issued a walk before Skillingstad came back in and faced the game's final batters.

For Pacific, starter Tori Shepard (2-1) struck out three, walked two, allowed five hits and her two runs allowed were earned.

Three Tigers hit safely and two had two hits - Lindsey Pierce (2-for-3) and Megan Hom (2-for-3).

Looking ahead, the Ducks face San Jose State (8-4) immediately after on Saturday afternoon at Bill Simoni Field on the Pacific University campus.
