
Ducks Complete IU Winter Mock Dual

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Oregon women's tennis team wrapped up its time at the Indiana Winter Mock Dual with a sweep of Marquette in doubles play. The play at IU completes the tournament season for UO, as it now eyes the dual season.
How It Happened: With the final day consisting of just doubles play, the Ducks came out firing and won all three matches against Marquette. The freshmen duo of Nia Rose and Alyssa Tobita continued their winning ways, downing Ana Pimienta and Erin Gebes handedly 8-4. The two are now 12-3 in doubles action heading into their first dual season at Oregon.
Sophomore Marlou Kluiving and senior Nicole Long picked up their second victory at the IU tournament with a gritty 8-7 (5) win over Ali Dawson and Aleeza Kanner. Lina Åkesson and Kadie Hueffner completed the sweep of the Golden Eagles with an 8-6 win over Paula Tormos and Vanessa Foltinger.
Abilene Christian's doubles teams proved to be a more formidable foe, dispatching the Ducks in all three matches 8-4.
What It Means: The Ducks are now finished with their tournament season, and have set their eyes onto the dual season which starts this Saturday, Jan. 24.
