Ducks Head East to Take on OSU, PSU

Oregon enters final weekend of regular season.
EUGENE, Ore. – The 70th-ranked Oregon women's tennis team heads east for the final weekend of the regular season, first visiting No. 5 Ohio State on Friday (3 p.m. PT) before a Sunday stop at Penn State (8 a.m. PT).

Oregon (12-11, 3-8) is coming off a 4-3 come-from-behind victory over Minnesota in its home finale. The Ducks trailed the match 2-0 before rallying to tie the match at 3-3, then sophomore Patsy Daughters pulled off a three-set victory to seal the win on Senior Day.

Through 23 dual matches, UO has compiled a 59-43 overall singles record while its doubles teams are a combined 33-22. Seven players in the Ducks' singles lineup boast .500 or better records, including a 13-6 mark from sophomore Bridget Mihulka, a 10-7 record from junior Tilde Jagare and matching 8-8 marks from freshman Virginia Crocker, Daughters and senior Olvia Symons.

Jagare has played every match at the top spot in the lineup and has tallied two ranked singles victories to go with a pair of ranked doubles wins along with her partner Symons. Jagare and Symons are 12-9 this spring, with four Big Ten wins.
Hinata Furutani and Juliet Santitto are a team-best 6-4 in conference play, including a ranked win over Northwestern, while going 11-5 overall this spring.

The Buckeyes are riding an eight-match winning streak since dropping their lone Big Ten match at USC on March 15. Ohio State's singles lineup features four ranked players in No. 4, Luciana Perry, No. 5 Teah Chavez, No. 77 Nao Nishino and No. 100 Audrey Spencer.

The Nittany Lions enter the weekend off a 4-0 sweep of Purdue last Sunday, snapping a three-match skid. Patricia Grigoras owns a team-leading five singles wins during Big Ten play while compiling 10 dual wins.

Oregon and Penn State will meet for the first time on Sunday, while the Ducks are 2-3 all-time against Ohio State, with the last meeting coming in 2012. Both matches will mark the first between the sides as Big Ten members.
