Post-Game Quotes vs. Arkansas State
11/26/15 | Men's Basketball
Dana Altman – Head Coach, Oregon
On Boucher's record-breaking night…
“His second half was really good. He was really active, both offensively and defensively. The first half, he had three rebounds, four points and two blocks so the second half he had seven rebounds, 13 points and 7 blocks. That's one heck of a game.”
On Boucher and Manuel's defense…
“(Boucher) covered a lot of mistakes for those guys. I thought Trevor (Manuel) came in and was a little more aggressive, trying to block some shots. I think it allows guys to play a little harder when they know that Chris (Boucher) might cover up a mistake or two.”
On Dwayne Benjamin…
“He was by far the most productive player in the first half. Tyler hit a few threes late, but he definitely got us going offensively and just took the ball to the basket.”
On Elgin Cook…
“I thought he got us going in the second half. He made a couple nice plays in the break where guys got fouled and got to the line. He got that steal early and kicked it ahead. I thought he had a couple really nice assists.”
On his team's performance so far this season…
“We're not playing enough attention to detail. Some guys just want to go play. Our attention to detail offensively and the talk defensively has got to improve. Our block-out percentages have to improve.”
Dwayne Benjamin – Forward, Senior
On the depth of the team…
“Since the beginning, that is what we have always said we would lean on, on offense and defense: versatility. A lot of people can do a lot of things on any night and that is what we really depend on. Everyone doing their part.”
On Chris Boucher's performance…
“Amazing, like I always say. He really helps us with defense. I feel confident when I am guarding with pressure that he is behind me and knowing he can get those nine blocks any night. I feel confident in him helping me on defense and on offense.”
On his mentality going into the game…
“Just try to help more. I wasn't necessarily worried about scoring, just playing and helping more. The energy was pretty down, so I think that's just one of my jobs. Just to get us up, come off the bench and bring energy.”
Chris Boucher – Forward, Senior
On the game…
“I just felt like the first half was not the energy we were supposed to have. We came out in the second half firing and trying to make defensive plays.”
On transitioning from junior college to NCAA Division I competition…
“I think that the physicality was an aspect I had to work on, and the intensity too. I was not really tested when I was at junior college. It was pretty easy coming into the game knowing you have to score. Here, we have a lot of players that can score.”
