Huskies Snap Oregon's 13-Game Win Streak

EUGENE, Ore. – The No. 2 ranked Oregon softball team was run-ruled for the first time since 2013 as the Ducks fell, 10-2, in five innings to No. 19 ranked Washington on Saturday at Howe Field.
Oregon fell to 29-4 (7-1 Pac-12) after its first league loss of the season while the Huskies improved to 31-8 (3-4). The loss snapped a 13-game winning streak for the Ducks.
Scoring Summary: The Huskies struck first, when Kylee Lahners hit a RBI double down the left field line in the top of the third. It was the first run of the series for Washington. Later in the inning the Huskies loaded the bases but starter Geri Ann Glasco struck out Gano to end the threat.
The Huskies broke the game wide open with a big eight run top of the fourth. The Ducks made back-to-back errors on bunt attempts, allowing Washington to score five unearned runs in the frame.
The Ducks had a chance to get back into the game in the bottom of the fourth. Oregon loaded the bases with no outs and scored a pair of runs on back-to-back singles by Sammie Puentes and Jenna Lilley but Oregon's next three batters went pop out, strikeout and pop out to end the inning.
Lahners homered in the fifth to add another run for the Huskies.
In the Circle: Glasco started the game for the Ducks, allowing four runs on five hits in three innings with three strikeouts. Jasmine Smithson-Willett pitched in relief, giving up six runs (one earned) on six hits in two innings with one strikeout.
Washington starter Kasey Stancheck picked up the win after allowing two runs on five hits in three innings with four walks and two strikeouts.
Stat Sheet: Oregon loaded the bases in three different innings on Saturday, leaving 10 on base.
Notable: Janie Takeda left the game in the fourth inning after a collision in the outfield.
