The Ducks improved to 36-5 (14-2 Pac-12) with their eighth straight win over Stanford. The Cardinal fell to 16-27 (1-12).
Scoring Summary: Geri Ann Glasco was the Ducks' offense to start the game. The junior, who hit three home runs in a game to tie the UO record earlier this season against Washington, nearly did it again against the Cardinal. Glasco homered to start the second inning and then crushed another solo shot high off the light pole in center in the third inning.
Stanford's Kylie Sorenson hit a pair of doubles in the contest, the second of which tied up the game, 3-3, in the fourth. The Cardinal scored again in the fourth on a bases loaded walk to take a 4-3 lead.
Janelle Lindvall's sacrifice fly in the fifth tied it up, 4-4, before Costa was able to win it for the Ducks with a RBI single in the top of the seventh.
In the Circle: After Costa gave the Ducks the lead in the seventh, Cheridan Hawkins shut the door in the bottom half of the inning. She tallied her 11th strikeout of the game to end it.
Hawkins improved to 19-3 on the season after allowing four runs on five hits in seven innings with three walks and a season-high 11 strikeouts.
Stat Sheet: Janie Takeda led the Ducks with three hits and a pair of runs scored while batting second as the designated player. Glasco also scored two runs on her pair of homers. Costa went 1-for-1 and drew three walks.
Fun Fact: Oregon drew five walks in the game. Oregon hitters have drawn five-or-more walks in six straight games.
