What are you most excited for this season?
I am most excited to get better and see where I can go with my tennis ability this year and see what myself and the team can accomplish.
What was the highlight of your summer?
The highlight of my summer was going back to India and getting to spend two months with my parents, relatives and friends.
What does it mean to you to be on the University of Oregon women's tennis team?
I'm proud I get to represent not only myself, but also our program, the university and what we stand for. I want to excel in tennis, but also other important aspects of my life and this program helps me achieve that.
Where is your favorite place you've ever played in your life?
My favorite place would be Thailand. I had a great time when I used to go there and compete. It was also super fun to play, hang out with my friends there and see the city.Â
What's your favorite thing about the game of tennis?
My favorite thing about tennis is winning and competing. It's also great to be able to travel to different places to play tennis and meet so many new people in the process.
What do you like to do for fun when you're off the court?
I like to dance, hang out with my friends, engage in intellectual discussions and get to know different and new people.
If you could choose anyone in the world to play doubles with, who would you choose?
I would choose Serena Williams, because she is my idol. She is so entertaining to watch and funny.
What/how are you hoping to develop the most this season?
I am hoping to develop this season by having total trust in my coaches, performing to the best of my ability and to pay attention to little details.
Where is your favorite spot on campus?
My favorite spot on campus is our locker room. I just love our locker room.
If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?
It would for sure be an Indian meal - rice with butter chicken is my favorite.
Growing up, who was your athletic role model and why?
My athletic role model was Roger Federer. He is a great human being for all the charity he does and he is so humble. Obviously, he is also amazing at tennis and makes it look so effortless.
What's your favorite thing about living in Eugene?
My favorite thing is that it's very green and nice in Eugene. I choose to stay in the cold over hot weather, so Eugene is pretty good for that.
Do you have any pre-match rituals or superstitions?
I have to listen to music before playing. Â I love blasting Kanye West, he really gets me pumped and energized.
Who is the funniest girl on the team?
Definetely Nia!
