Senior Day Sweet for Ducks

Ducks rally for 4-3 win over Minnesota on Senior Day.
EUGENE, Ore. – In its final home match of the 2025-26 season, the Oregon women's tennis team put together a comeback to remember on Senior Day in a 4-3 victory over Minnesota at the UO Student Tennis Center.
Â
After a slow start to the day, the Ducks (12-11. 3-8) found themselves down 2-0 after the Golden Gophers stole the doubles point and picked up a straight-set singles win. Add to it that Minnesota won the first set on three other singles courts, and it looked like it may not be the Ducks' day.
Â
UO's top two singles players – junior Tilde Jagare and senior Olivia Symons – got the Ducks started with straight set wins on courts one and two, respectively. Symons, who is the team's lone senior that was honored before the match, snapped a four-match slide and turned in her career-best eighth singles win of the dual season.
Â
Playing her second straight match at No. 6, Juliet Santitto overcame a 6-1 first-set loss to take the next two sets, 7-6 (5), 6-0, to put the Ducks in front 3-2. But a three-set victory on court three leveled the match with just one match still in progress.

Â
Sophomore Patsy Daughters, playing at No. 4, forced a third set with a 7-5 win in the second after dropping the opening frame by the identical score. Daughters closed out the match and collected the decisive team point with her 6-2 third-set victory over Minnesota's Sofia Pinto.
Â
During doubles play to begin the day, UO's No. 2 duo of Hinata Furutani and Santitto picked up a 6-2 win, their team-leading sixth doubles win in Big Ten play. Jagare and Symons, playing on centre court, battled back from a 5-0 deficit to force their set into extra games, but fell 7-5 in the decisive doubles match.
Â
The victory snapped Oregon's six-match skid while its 12 dual wins mark the most in a single season since winning 15 in 2021-22. Ten of Oregon's 11 losses have come against teams ranked inside the nation's top 60. As a team, Oregon boasts a 59-43 combined dual singles record while going 33-22 in doubles play.
Â
The Ducks head out on the road for their final weekend of the regular season, visiting Ohio State on Friday and Penn State on Sunday.
