Scavo Earns Top-Five Finish at Nanea, Ducks Wrap Fall In Fourth

Kathleen Scavo Records Highest-Career Finish As Ducks Close Out Fall Schedule
KAILUA KONA, Hawaii – Sophomore Kathleen Scavo finished the Nanea Pac-12 Preview in a tie for fourth at 2-under while the Ducks closed out their fall schedule with a fourth-place finish on Tuesday at Nanea Golf Club.
How It Happened: Entering the day in a three-way tie for the lead at 3-under, Scavo started her final round strong with two pars and a birdie in her first three holes. Three bogeys in the next seven holes dragged her score down a bit before she rallied with birdies on No. 17 and No. 1, but a bogey on No. 2 lifted her final round score back above even to finish at 1-over for the round and 2-under overall.
Scavo recorded the highest finish of her career in a tie for fourth, the first top-five finish of her career and second top-10 finish. USC's Robynn Ree claimed the individual win with an overall mark of 6-under.
As a team, the Ducks (293-317-295—905, +29) rallied around Scavo's strong tournament to climb two spots from Monday and finish in fourth with a 3-over 295 in the final round. Arizona State won the event at 2-over.
Senior Cathleen Santoso was tremendous in the final round, shooting a 3-under 70 across the final 18 holes to end the week in a tie for 23rd at 8-over. Santoso was 4-under with four birdies through 17 holes before bogeying her final hole.
Rounding out the Oregon lineup were Brooke Hamilton, Amy Matsuoka and Petra Salko. Matsuoka had the strongest final day among the three, shooting a 1-over 73 to wrap her week at 14-over. Hamilton was 4-over on Tuesday to finish 12-over overall in a tie for 37th, while Salko went 6-over in the final round to end the week at 22-over.

In five events during the fall, Oregon recorded three top-five finishes highlighted by a second-place finish at the East and West Match Play Challenge.
