Laurent and Clissold Advance to Doubles Finals, Will Face Off in Singles Finals

EUGENE, Ore. – Cormac Clissold and Thomas Laurent are set for an exciting day on Sunday to close out the Duck Invitational, as the pair will team up in the doubles finals before facing off in the finals of the Green Singles flight after strong showings on Saturday at the Student Tennis Center.
How It Happened: Opening the day in the second round of doubles, Clissold and Laurent came away with a commanding 8-2 win over Jonathan Aremon and Julien Evrard (Nevada). The pair then took down Nathan Boniel and Tommy Edwards (PSU), 8-3, to advance to the finals where they'll face Goutham Sundaram and Jamie Fisher (Portland) in the finals on Sunday at 9 a.m.
In the semifinals of the Green Singles draw, Laurent defeated Boniel, 6-3, 6-2, to move on to the finals.
Clissold had a more familiar opponent in the semis, as he defeated his teammate Jayson Amos, 6-4, 6-1, to set up a finals match with Laurent on Sunday following the conclusion of doubles play.
Ethan Young-Smith also competed for the Ducks on Saturday in the semifinals of the Yellow Singles flight, where he lost to Sundaram, 6-1, 6-1.
Sundaram will take on Sandro Lena (UNR) in the finals on the Yellow side.
