Undefeated USC Up Next
12/29/16 | Men's Basketball
Oregon welcomes another undefeated opponent to Matthew Knight Arena when No. 22 USC (14-0) visits for a 7 p.m. Friday tilt (FS1).
THE STARTING FIVE
1 - Friday's game between No. 21 Oregon and No. 22 USC will be just the third meeting of ranked teams at Matthew Knight Arena. The second such meeting happened Wednesday night when No. 21 Oregon upended No. 2 UCLA 89-87. The first meeting of ranked teams came just 13 months ago, when No. 25 Oregon beat No. 20 Baylor 74-67 (11-20-15). Overall, USC will be ninth ranked opponent to play at Matthew Knight Arena. Oregon is 7-1 all-time versus ranked foes in Matthew Knight Arena.
2 - Prior to Wednesday night's game with UCLA, Oregon had held 12 straight opponents under 70 points. UCLA's 87 points was the most allowed by the Ducks this season. Army, which scored 77 in the season opener, is the only other team to reach 70 points against the Ducks so far this season.
3 - Despite recording only one block Wednesday night, the Ducks lead the nation at 7.7 blocks per game, and also lead the nation in total blocks with 108. Individually, Chris Boucher is 11th nationally in blocks per game (2.9), with Jordan Bell 26th (2.4 bpg).
4 - A little defense goes a long way. Under Dana Altman, Oregon is 112-14 when holding opponents under 70 points, including an 80-6 mark the last five seasons.
5 - Dana Altman needs one more victory to reach 700 wins in his coaching career. His record currently includes 576 wins at the Division I level (Marshall, Kansas State, Creighton, Oregon) and another 123 wins at the junior college level (Southeast, Moberly).
USC STREAK
The Ducks' current streak of 12 straight wins over USC is Oregon's longest ever against the Trojans. UO's previous best in the series was nine straight from 1986-87 to 1990-91. The 12-game streak is also the Ducks' second-longest all-time against any Pac-12 opponent, trailing only a 13-game streak Oregon had against Washington State between 2002 and 2007. Among active streaks, the 12 games is second only to a current 15-game winning streak versus Gonzaga (1931-present).
WIN STREAK AT MKA REACHES 34 GAMES
Oregon's winning streak at Matthew Knight Arena is currently at 34 games, which is the longest string of home wins in UO history. Oregon last dropped a home game Jan. 8, 2015 (Arizona, 80-62). Two of Oregon's four longest home winning streaks have come under Dana Altman.

BROOKS CLIMBS SCORING LIST
Dillon Brooks is nearing Oregon's top 20 in career scoring. The first UO player to reach 1,000 career points as a sophomore, Brooks comes into the USC game with 1,198 career points (23rd). He passed Bob Hamilton (1,183/1943-46) and Dick Wilkins (1,186/1944-48) Wednesday versus UCLA. Next up is No. 22 A.D. Smith (1,234/1995-00).
BELL BACK-TO-BACK
Jordan Bell established career highs in back-to-back games. He scored 16 points (with 12 rebounds) Dec. 17 against UNLV and then upped his career best to 23 points Dec. 20 against Fresno State. He followed that with 13 points against No. 2 UCLA. Bell is shooting 74.2 percent from the field (23-of-31) in his last four games.

He was just one rebound shy of becoming the first Duck with a 20-20 game since the late Greg Ballard scored 41 points with 20 rebounds in a five-overtime game at California, Feb. 10, 1977.
BIG BLOCKERS ON THE ROSTER
The top two career blocked shots leaders in Oregon history are on the Ducks' 2016-17 roster. Junior Jordan Bell became UO's all-time leader in just his 50th career game and now shows 181.
