Ducks Top Gannon, King in Tri-Meet

EUGENE – The Oregon acrobatics and tumbling team scored a 282.030 to best host Gannon's 268.670 and King's 253.945, in a tri-meet on Saturday afternoon in Erie, Pa.
How It Happened: Oregon (7-1) came out hot, posting a season-best 39.25 in the compulsory event. The Ducks earned scores of 9.70 in acro, 9.90 in pyramid, 9.95 in toss and a season-high 9.70 in tumbling to top their previous high of 38.65 (at Concordia) in the event.
Gannon took acro with a 29.15, to beat out the Ducks' 28.80 and King's 28.70, despite Oregon managing a season-high 9.95 in the second heat.
The Ducks got back on track in the pyramid, recording a 29.75 behind scores of 9.95, 9.90 and 9.90 in heats one, two and three, respectively. Oregon led with 97.80 points at the half.
Oregon kept it rolling with a season-best 20.35 in the toss. The Ducks were consistent in the event, posting two 9.80's (heats one and three) and a 9.75 (heat two) to record their first score of 29 or higher so far this season.
For the third-straight meet, the Ducks one-upped their score in the tumbling. Oregon used season highs in the triple pass (9.600), quad pass (9.200) and aerial pass (9.875) to notch a 58.050 in the event, passing its previous best of 57.525.
The Ducks posted a 96.83 in the team event, topping Gannon's 93.12 and King's 80.77 to wrap up the win.
Up Next: The Ducks continue their spring break trip on Tuesday when they travel to Fairmont, W. Va., for a meet with Fairmont State at 3 p.m. PT.
