The Oregon women's tennis team dropped only three matches during the first day of play at the Washington Husky Invitational Friday.
SEATTLE, Wash. - The Oregon women's tennis team opened the Washington Husky Invitational with a bang Friday finishing the first day of tournament play with a nearly spotless record.
Seniors Nia Rose and Alyssa Tobita along with sophomore Julia Eshet were able to pick up wins in all three of their matches on the day.
How it Happened: The Ducks opened the day with doubles matchups against Portland and the host Huskies.
The doubles pair of Rose and Eshet swept Radina Dimitrova and Lourdes Ramalle of Portland 6-0 in their first match of the day. The duo was put to the test in their second doubles match against Washington's Lana Slavica and Vanessa Wong, but pulled out the victory 7-6 (7).
Junior Shweta Sangwan and partner Tobita earned back-to-back wins Friday picking up right where they left off from last season after finishing 2016-17 with a 17-6 doubles record.
