The Oregon women’s golf team finished round one of the Stanford Intercollegiate at 15-over par and tied for 11th on Monday
PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. – The Oregon women's golf team finished round one of the Stanford Intercollegiate at 15-over par and tied for 11th on Monday at Poppy Hill Golf Course.
How It Happened: The Ducks shot a 15-over 299 in the first of three rounds of stroke play. Oregon is tied for 11th overall with 36 holes to play, while host Stanford leads the field after the opening day at 4-under 280.
Junior Petra Salko had a solid day, shooting 3 over on the front nine before finishing the back nine at even par. Salko ended round one with a 3-over 74 and tied for 29th on the individual leaderboard.
Freshman Alexis Phadungmartvorakul had a rocky start to the day, carding five bogeys in the first nine holes. Phadungmartvorakul entered the turn at 6-over par but regained her footing during the back nine, using three birdies on her final four holes to complete round one at 3-over 74 and tied for 29thalongside Salko.
Junior Kathleen Scavo is tied for 40th after finishing at 4-over 75, dropping a birdie on her last hole, and sophomore Amy Matsuoka is right behind at 4-over 76, tied for 42nd.
Up Next: The Ducks are paired with University of Georgia and Cal Poly for round two and will tee off Tuesday at 8 a.m.
