
Ducks fall 1-0 in series finale

EUGENE, Ore. – Oregon was shut out by No. 1 Oregon State in a 1-0 Pac-12 Conference loss on Saturday night at PK Park.
How It Happened: Jake Thompson (11-0) pitched 6.2 innings allowing just three hits while striking out five and walking two. Brandon Eisert pitched the final 2.1 innings without giving up a hit while striking out one and walking one to pick up his second save of the series.
Cadyn Grenier drove in the game's only run with a two-out RBI single in the fourth inning scoring Christian Donahue who led off with a walk.
Matt Mercer (5-6) turned in another quality start going six innings, giving up just one run on eight hits while striking out five and walking four. Mercer worked his way out of trouble all night, stranding 10 Beaver runners and holding them to 1-for-10 with runners in scoring position.
Kenyon Yovan held the Beavers (41-4, 24-3 Pac-12) hitless over the last 1.1 innings with three strikeouts, including getting out of a bases loaded jam in the ninth.
