Ducks fall to Loyola Marymount

EUGENE, Ore. – Three Loyola Marymount pitchers combined to shut out Oregon in a 4-0 non-conference loss on Wednesday at PK Park.
How It Happened: Giuseppe Benedetti (4-0) threw five innings of five hit ball with two strikeouts and a walk. Codie Paiva went three innings in relief with four strikeouts and Braydon Salzman pitched a scoreless ninth inning.
The Lions (34-16) struck for three runs in the first inning off Oregon starter James Acuna (1-1). After three consecutive singles to begin the game, two runs came in to score on a fielder's choice and throwing error by Morgan McCullough. Brandon Shearer drove in the third run of the inning with an RBI groundout.
Jimmy Hill added to the Loyola Marymount lead with a run-scoring single in the eighth inning.
