
Pair of Ducks in Top 10 heading into Final Round

Ryan Gronlund and Edwin Yi both shot 68 to position themselves in the top 10 heading into the final round of the Trinity Forest Invitational.
DALLAS – Ryan Gronlund and Edwin Yi each shot a 3-under par 68 to position themselves in the top 10 in the second round of the Trinity Forest Invitational at Trinity Forest Golf Club on Monday.
Oregon (283-284—567, -1) finished even par for the day and remains 1-under for the tournament and in fifth place heading into Tuesday's final round.
How it Happened: Yi had an uneven front nine, making three birdies and three bogeys in his first six holes before making eagle on the seventh hole to get to 2-under for the round. He closed with a 1-under 35 on the back nine to get to 3-under on the day and 4-under for the tournament.
Gronlund had a bogey-free opening nine while making three birdies to shoot 3-under 32. He shot an even-par 36 on the back nine and is 2-under through the first two rounds.
Donald Kay followed up his solid collegiate debut with a 2-over par round of 73 and is even for the tournament and tied for 15th.
Norman Xiong shot a 4-over 75 and tied for 52nd for the tournament and Sam Foust turned in a 7-over par round of 78. Kymer Li shot a 3-over par 74 and is 9-over through two rounds competing as an individual.
What it Means: The Ducks are seven shots behind leaders Auburn and Florida who are 8-under par after the first 36 holes. Gronlund and Yi matched Auburn's Brandon Mancheno for the lowest round of the day. Yi is one of just four players to break par in the first two rounds of the tournament and is tied for third and two shots off the lead. Gronlund enters the final round tied for eighth and four shots off the pace.
