LOS ANGELES, Calif. - The Oregon women's tennis team dominated at the Women of Troy Fall Invitational, going 3-0 in singles play against Loyola Marymount on Friday.
How It Happened: Despite a slow start in their doubles matches against USC, the Ducks came alive in the afternoon in singles play against LMU.
After playing in three three-set matches at the ITA All-Americans, Nasser kicked off the Women of Troy Fall Invitational in a similar fashion. The senior took down LMU's Yespica Delucas in another three-set thriller, 4-6, 6-2, 10-5.
Eshet defeated Camila Tumosa of LMU in straight sets, 6-1, 7-5, while Sangwan downed Eva Marie Voracek of LMU, 6-1, 6-3.Â
Earlier in the day, the Ducks took on USC in doubles play.Â
Julia Eshet and Shweta Sangwan took the court together as doubles partners for the second tournament in row. However, the pair struggled, dropping the match to USC's Rianna Valdes and Angela Kulikov, 6-2.
Daniela Nasser paired up with Camila Tumosa of LMU for the first round of doubles against USC. The duo found their rhythm early on and defeated the Trojans' Alexa Corcoleotes and Sydney Van Alphen, 6-4.
The Invitational is a hidden dual format, meaning that each day UO will face one team in doubles and a different school in singles.Â
Up Next: The second day of the Women of Troy Fall Invitational will begin with doubles at 10 a.m., where Oregon will take on Arizona. For singles, the Ducks will face USC, LMU and Cal State Fullerton. Â
