Herbert Makes Cut For Unitas Award

BALTIMORE, Md. – Oregon junior quarterback Justin Herbert was one of 15 players to make the first cut for The 2018 Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award on Monday. The local Eugene, Ore., product owns the nation's longest streak of consecutive games with a touchdown pass at 22.

Herbert enters this weekend's game at Arizona with 17 touchdowns and one interception over his seven career starts in Pac-12 road games. In fact, Herbert hasn't thrown an interception in his last 205 pass attempts in Pac-12 road contests.

On the season, Herbert ranks tied for 11th nationally with 18 TD passes and is tied for 23rd with 1,883 yards through the air. Herbert has helped No. 19 Oregon get off to a 5-2 start and average 39.7 points per game while navigating four consecutive games against AP Top 25 opponents.

The Golden Arm Award® is organized by the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Educational Foundation, Inc. and presented by A. O. Smith. The award has been presented at the end of each season since 1987 to the nations top college quarterback, based on accomplishments both on and off the field.
