Lombardi Announces 2019 Softball Schedule
10/26/18 | Softball
EUGENE, Ore. – The 2019 Oregon softball schedule will feature 17 home games at Jane Sanders Stadium as well as 16 opponents that reached the NCAA Tournament last spring, head coach Melyssa Lombardi announced on Friday.
In addition to facing 16 NCAA Tournament teams, the Ducks' first spring schedule under Lombardi includes nine teams that qualified for NCAA Super Regionals in 2018 and four that joined the Ducks in Oklahoma City at the Women's College World Series.
"It's a tough schedule," said Lombardi. "There's a lot of tough opponents. But I fully believe that, in order for us to be the best, we have to play the best. So we will get tested in the preseason, which we need to in order for us to be prepared for the Pac-12."
A limited number of outfield general admission season tickets remain for $100. All reserved seats are currently sold out. Single game tickets will go on sale at a later date in early 2019. The extremely popular, mobile voucher Quack Pack, which debuted last year will also be available this season, and will go on sale before the end of this year.

The Ducks will open the Lombardi era at the Kajikawa Classic (Feb. 8-10) in Tempe, Ariz., where they will face Cal State Northridge, Kansas, Bradley, Missouri and Seattle throughout the three-day tournament hosted by Arizona State. Oregon's season-opening opponent will feature a familiar face in Cheridan Hawkins, the former UO all-American who is now the pitching coach at Cal State Northridge.
Oregon will then head to Clearwater, Fla., for the inaugural St. Pete/Clearwater Elite Invitational, which will feature 16 of the nation's elite programs across the ESPN networks. The Ducks will play a pair of NCAA Tournament teams in LSU and James Madison on February 15 before facing Florida Atlantic and Kentucky, UO's Super Regional opponent each of the last two years, on February 16.
UO's nonconference schedule will continue in Cathedral City, Calif., at the annual Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic (Feb. 21-24). The Ducks' six-game slate includes three teams coming off NCAA Tournament appearances – New Mexico State, Bethune Cookman and Texas A&M – as well as Army, Texas Tech and UC Santa Barbara.
A loaded five-game schedule will await the Ducks at the Judy Garman Classic in Fullerton, Calif. (Feb. 28-March 2). Oregon will open the tournament against Florida, a 2018 WCWS qualifier, and will also face an NCAA Super Regional team in Tennessee as well as two more postseason qualifiers in Auburn and Michigan. UO will play Cal State Fullerton on February 28 after taking on Florida.
The Ducks will play at Jane Sanders Stadium for the first time in 2019 on March 8-9, when they will host Oklahoma State for a two-day, three-game Oregon Invitational before beginning conference play the following week.

The Ducks will then return home to host 2018 WCWS finalist Washington at The Jane for a Saturday-Monday series on March 23-25.
The Ducks will face Pacific in a Tuesday night road game on March 27 before going to Palo Alto to play Stanford in a three-game Pac-12 series (March 29-31). Oregon will then take a break from conference action the following weekend (April 6-7) in Columbia, Mo., playing two more games against Missouri as well as two against Pittsburgh.
Oregon will wrap its stretch of 11 straight road contests with a three-game series against UCLA on April 12-14 in Los Angeles. The Bruins reached the WCWS once again last spring.
Jane Sanders Stadium will then play host to eight consecutive home games, beginning with a three-game series against California on April 18-20. Portland State will come to Eugene for a Tuesday doubleheader on April 23, three days before the Ducks begin a three-game Civil War series with Oregon State (April 26-28).
The Ducks' final regular-season road series will be at Utah on May 3-5, and they'll wrap the regular season against another WCWS team in Arizona State on May 9-11 at JSS.
