Block Party Returns as Matt Knight Madness

        EUGENE, Ore. – The Block Party is back.

        Oregon men's and women's basketball teams will tip off the 2018-19 season with Matt Knight Madness, a free fan festival that will be held Friday, October 12 at Matthew Knight Arena.

        The event will begin at 6 p.m., with doors open to the public at 5:30 p.m.

        The festival will feature three-point shooting competitions, a dunk contest and scrimmages by both teams.

        Students can come early for free pizza and to meet the teams and coaches.

        Several big-ticket prizes will be given away at Matt Knight Madness. One of the more entertaining competitions of the evening will be a game of "knock out" with the grand prize of a Jordan Bell Golden State Warriors jersey.

        Other significant prizes will be announced in the week leading up to the festival.

        There will also be performance by the UO band, cheerleaders and the Duck.

        Parking in the Columbia Street garage is free for this event. Open seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
