EUGENE, Ore. – Oregon women's lacrosse freshman goalie Rachel Hall was one of 34 players named to the 2019 U.S. Women's U19 National Team.
"Our staff couldn't be more excited for Rachel to be named to the U19 roster," said Oregon head coach Chelsea Gamble. "It's truly and honor and something she has worked extremely hard for."
Hall made the roster after serving on the U.S. Training Team and competing at the Team USA Fall Classic in October. Hall was selected to the U.S. Training Team after participating in a three-day tryout among 110 athletes at the U.S. Lacrosse headquarters last August.
"It's an honor to be able to wear USA across my chest again," said Hall. "I can't wait to compete with the best against top competition at the Spring Premiere at Stanford."
Hall and the rest of the U19 team will make their first official appearance during the Spring Premiere at Stanford University from Jan. 25-27. The Spring Premiere features six teams – the U.S. senior and U19 teams, along with teams from England, Japan, Fresno State and Stanford.
The U.S. National Team is building towards next summer's Federation of International Lacrosse (FIL) Women's U19 World Championship, which will be held Aug. 1-10 in Peterborough, Canada. The United States has won four of the six previous FIL Women's U19 Championships held (1999, 2003, 2007, 2011), while Australia (1995) and Canada (2015) have each won once.
