Ducks Off to Milwaukee for NIT Second Round
Oregon travels to Milwaukee to face Marquette in the second round of the 2018 NIT Sunday at 1:30 p.m. PT (ESPN2).
THE STARTING FIVE
• 1 – This is Oregon's eighth straight postseason appearance: 2011 CBI, 2012 NIT, 2013-17 NCAA, 2018 NIT. This is also Oregon's 11th all-time appearance in the NIT. Oregon has now won at least one game in its last four NIT appearances.
• 2 – Two of the program's most memorable moments have come in the NIT: Greg Ballard's school-record 43 points versus Oral Roberts in 1977 and Luke Jackson scoring 29 straight points against Colorado in 2004. Freshman Victor Bailey Jr. added his own chapter by hitting seven three-pointers - the most ever by a Duck at Matthew Knight Arena - Tuesday versus Rider.
• 3 – Oregon has notched its eighth 20-win season in a row, a school record. Oregon is one of just 15 teams nationally with at least eight consecutive 20-win seasons. Oregon has also clinched its eighth straight winning season, the first time in 86 years that the Ducks have recorded eight winning seasons in a row (10 straight from 1923-32), and has won a program-best 210 games in that span.
• 4 – Elijah Brown and Kenny Wooten are on pace to set UO single-season records for free throw percentage and field goal percentage, respectively. Brown is currently at .930 from the line, while Wooten is hitting .676 from the field.
• 5 – Tuesday's win against Rider moved Dana Altman into a tie for 31st with Stew Morrill in all-time NCAA Division I coaching wins (620). In other words, in the history of DI basketball, only 30 men have won more games than Dana Altman.
• BENCH – Dana Altman is one of six active head coaches in NCAA Division I who have posted a winning record for the last 21 consecutive seasons (the other five are in the Hall of Fame).
