The Oregon women’s golf team shot 15 over to open the Pac-12 Championships Sunday
SEATTLE – The Oregon women's golf team shot 15 over to open the Pac-12 Championships at the Broadmoor Golf Club on Sunday.
How it Happened: The Ducks started well, shooting 1 under through their first five holes, but struggled to find birdies during the second half of round one. Oregon is sitting in 11th place heading into round two. No. 1 UCLA leads the field at 1 under.
Junior Kathleen Scavo currently leads Oregon and is tied for 20th place individually after finishing with a 2-over 74. Scavo carded the fifth-most birdies in the field in the first round with five. Three players are tied for the individual lead after one round at 4 under.
Freshman Alexis Phadungmartvorakul followed closely behind Scavo, recording a 3-over 75 in the first 18 holes. She is tied for 27th overall.
Junior Petra Salko carded an eagle on her fourth hole of the day, but was hurt by six bogeys and finished the day at 4 over.
Sophomore Amy Matsuoka birdied her first hole of the day and closed the first round at 6 over, and freshman Madi Daniel rounded out the lineup at 11 over.
