Ducks Aim for Strong Finish at Pac-12 Championships

ROLLING HILLS ESTATES, Calif. – Norman Xiong shot a 2-under 69 and Edwin Yi finished with a 1-under 70 but Oregon couldn't put much else together on the way to a score of 11 over in round three of the Pac-12 Championships at Rolling Hills Country Club Tuesday.
How it Happened: Xiong began his day with a birdie on the par-5 10th hole but gave the shot right back with a bogey on hole 11. He bogeyed the 13th hole to drop to 1 over on the day but responded with back-to-back birdies at 14 and 15 to shoot 1 under on the back nine. Xiong made two birdies and a bogey on the front nine and sits in a tie for 16th at 4 under for the tournament.
Yi came out firing, making birdie on his first two holes, but made a double bogey, two bogeys and a birdie to drop to 1 over at the turn. He turned in a steadier performance on the second nine, shooting 2 under with two birdies and seven pars on the front nine to get to 2 over for the tournament and tied for 33rd.
Ryan Gronlund shot a 3-over 74 after going 3 under on day one of the tournament to drop back to even par and tied for 28th. Kevin Geniza finished with a 5-over 76 and is tied for 52nd while Donald Kay shot a 77 and Thomas Mulligan a 78.
The Ducks are 12 over for the event and in 11th place. USC leads the team race at 27 under while USC's Justin Suh holds the 54-hole individual lead at 16 under.
