The Oregon women’s golf team shot 15 over in round one of the Silverado Showdown on Sunday

NAPA, Calif. – The Oregon women's golf team shot 15 over in the first round of the Silverado Showdown at the Silverado Country Club North Course on Sunday.

How it Happened: The Ducks, who are co-hosting the tournament with Colorado, are currently tied for 13th place after recording a score of 15-over 303. USC shot 2 over on the day to lead the field heading into tomorrow's second round.

Junior Petra Salko led the Ducks in the first round, shooting a 2-over 74. Salko shot 1 under on the back nine, where she also carded three birdies, and is tied for 19th overall after day one.

Sophomore Alexis Phadungmartvorakul had three birdies on the back nine, helping her record a 3-over 75 in the first round.

After earning a top-15 finish at the Ping ASU Invitational a couple weeks ago, junior Kathleen Scavo opened the Silverado Showdown by shooting 5 over.
Sophomore Amy Matsuoka also recorded a 5 over in round one.

Freshman Madi Daniel carded two birdies, but struggled throughout the rest of the first round to finish at 9 over.
