07/23/18 | Football
CHICAGO – Oregon senior outside linebacker Justin Hollins and junior inside linebacker Troy Dye were one of just eight duos named to the 34th annual Dick Butkus Award Watch List on Monday morning.
Hollins and Dye occupied two of the 51 spots on the Dick Butkus Watch List, which honors the nation's best linebackers.
Already on the watch list for the Chuck Bednarik Award and Lott IMPACT Award, Dye has led Oregon in tackles each of the past two seasons. In fact, Dye is one of five Power 5 players to lead his team in tackles in 2016 and 2017.
Dye finished fourth in the Pac-12 in tackles in 2017 with 107, leading Oregon in stops eight times. The Norco, Caif., product finished his sophomore season as one of three FBS players with at least 100 tackles, 10 tackles for loss, four sacks, one interception, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery.
Hollins posted his second consecutive season with 50-plus tackles in 2017, finishing with 59 stops, including 11.5 for loss. A two-time Pro Football Focus Pac-12 Team of the Week honoree, Hollins had 3.5 sacks and tied for second in the conference with three forced fumbles. During Oregon's 69-10 win over Oregon State, he returned his first career interception for a touchdown.
