Oregon lands three on Outland Trophy Watch List
07/24/18 | Football
DALLAS – Oregon junior center Jake Hanson, sophomore defensive tackle Jordon Scott and junior offensive lineman Calvin Throckmorton were named to the Outland Trophy Watch List on Tuesday morning.
Oregon is one of seven programs with three or more players on the watch list, and one of just two from the Pac-12 Conference.
With 25 consecutive starts at center over the last two seasons, Hanson has earned All-Pac-12 honorable mention honors each of the last two seasons. He has played 97 percent of the offensive snaps since becoming the starting center in 2016. Over that span, Oregon rushed for over 200 yards in 19 of 25 games, highlighted by eight performances of 300 or more yards. In addition to the Outland Trophy, Hanson is on the watch list for the Rimington Trophy.
Scott earned freshman All-America honors in 2017 after finishing with 34 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss and 2.0 sacks. He started 11 of Oregon's 13 games and had three or more tackles in eight games, including the last five. In addition to the Outland Trophy, Scott was named to the Nagurski Trophy Watch List earlier today.
Throckmorton, a CoSIDA Academic All-District 8 and All-Pac-12 honorable mention selection in 2017, has started all 25 games of his two-year career. He has played nearly 97 percent of the offensive snaps during that time while starting the first 22 games at right tackle and the last three games at right guard. As a sophomore, Throckmorton did not allow a sack, extending his streak of consecutive games without a sack allowed to 18 contests. As a freshman, he was called for just one penalty and allowed just two sacks.
