Rematch At Hand In Peach Bowl
Oregon is one win away from reaching the national championship game, and doing so will require avenging its lone loss of the season. After a dominant defensive performance fueled a 23-0 win over No. 4 Texas Tech in the College Football Playoff Quarterfinal, the No. 5 Ducks will face No. 1 Indiana in the CFP Semifinal at the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl. Oregon has won eight straight games since dropping a 30-20 decision at home to the Hoosiers on Oct. 11, including wins over James Madison and Texas Tech to reach the CFP Semifinals for the second time and first since 2014-15. Oregon is 3-2 all-time in CFP games and is making its first appearance in the Peach Bowl following a win in its first-ever trip to the Capital One Orange Bowl.
A Win Would...
» Send Oregon to the CFP National Championship Game to face either No. 6 Ole Miss or No. 10 Miami on Jan. 19.
» Secure UO's third trip to a national championship game, joining the 2014-15 (CFP) and 2010-11 (BCS) teams.
» Set a new program record for wins in a season with 14.
» Make Oregon 4-2 all-time in the College Football Playoff and 20-21 all-time in bowl and playoff games.
Defense Dominates Orange Bowl
All week the talk was about the team with the vaunted defense, the team that dominated the turnover battle, and the challenge it presented. All of that showed up in last week's Orange Bowl. But while the pregame talk was about Texas Tech, the team that all of that showed up for in the College Football Playoff Quarterfinal was Oregon. And now the Ducks are Orange Bowl champions and a game away from playing for a national championship. The Ducks dominated the Red Raiders, 23-0, posting the program's first postseason shutout since the 1917 Rose Bowl. UO allowed just 215 yards of offense and had a season-high four takeaways, including three by defensive MVP DB Brandon Finney Jr. (2 INTs, 1 FR). ILB Bryce Boettcher and DB Dillon Thieneman had 12 tackles apiece, and QB Dante Moore was the offensive MVP after completing 26-of-33 passes for 234 yards. RB Jordon Davis rushed for both of Oregon's touchdowns, and K Atticus Sappington made three field goals.
Orange Bowl Champions!
The Ducks captured their second New Year's Six bowl win and third bowl win overall under HC Dan Lanning with last week's 23-0 win over No. 4 Texas Tech in the Orange Bowl. Oregon improved to 19-21 all-time in bowl and playoff games and 8-8 in New Year's Six bowl games, winning in its first-ever appearance at the Orange Bowl. The win secured the Ducks' first trip to the Peach Bowl, with a chance to secure wins in two of the sport's six biggest bowls in the same year. Oregon is now 4-1 in bowl and playoff games under Lanning, also earning victories in the 2025 CFP First Round, the 2024 Fiesta Bowl and the 2022 Holiday Bowl.
» Three of Oregon's four bowl/CFP wins under Lanning have been by 17-plus points.
» Lanning now ranks third all-time among UO head coaches with three bowl wins, trailing only Mike Bellotti (6).
» Lanning is the first Oregon coach to win multiple College Football Playoff games.
» Oregon is 3-2 all-time in the CFP, with all three of its wins coming by 17-plus points.
» UO became the third team to record a shutout in a CFP game, joining Clemson (2015) and Alabama (2016).
Last Time vs. Indiana
Oregon dropped its first regular-season game since 2023 on Oct. 11 against Indiana, as the Hoosiers escaped Eugene with a 30-20 win. The loss snapped the nation's longest regular-season (23) and home (18) winning streaks as Indiana became the first visiting team to win in Autzen Stadium since Nov. 12, 2022. The Ducks trailed 13-10 at halftime and 20-13 through three quarters before pulling even on a 35-yard interception return for a touchdown by freshman DB Brandon Finney Jr., but Indiana scored the game's final 10 points to win. QB Dante Moore completed 21-of-34 passes for 186 yards with a 44-yard touchdown pass to WR Malik Benson, but also threw a season-high two interceptions. ILB Bryce Boettcher led the defense with 11 tackles, and DL Bear Alexander had a pair of TFLs.
Dominant Ducks
Oregon has been one of the nation's best teams since head coach Dan Lanning took over, reaching double-digit wins in all four seasons under Lanning and each of the last five. The Ducks' 48-7 overall record since 2022 is second-best in the nation, and they lead the country in wins and winning percentage (90.5) since both 2023 (38-4, 90.5) and 2024 (26-2, 92.9). Oregon is the only FBS team to reach 13 wins in each of the last two years, doing so for the third time in program history and in back-to-back seasons for the first time. Lanning is fourth in program history with 48 wins, second-most among active FBS head coaches since 2022.
» The Ducks went 10-3 in Lanning's debut season in 2022 before going 12-2 in 2023 and 13-1 in 2024.
» Oregon matched the program record with 13 wins in 2024 en route to winning the Big Ten Championship.
» UO earned the No. 1 seed in the College Football Playoff in 2024 before securing the No. 5 seed in 2025.
» Oregon is one of just three teams (Georgia, Ohio State) to reach the CFP Quarterfinals each of the last two seasons.
» Lanning is just the second UO head coach (Chip Kelly) to reach double-digit wins in each of his first four seasons.
» Oregon has won at least eight conference games in three straight seasons for the second time (2009-12).
Every Phase of the Game
Oregon has established itself as one of the nation's most well-rounded teams once again in 2025-26. Entering the College Football Playoff Semifinal, the Ducks are one of only three FBS teams (Indiana, Texas Tech) in the top 15 nationally for scoring offense (9th, 38.0 PPG), total offense (14th, 457.5 YPG), scoring defense (6th, 15.1 PPG) and total defense (6th, 267.4 YPG). Additionally, UO owns the nation's No. 4 passing defense at 156.6 yards allowed per game, and ranks 15th in rushing offense at 206.14 yards per game. Oregon has also been the nation's most balanced team in terms of explosive plays, leading all FBS teams in plays of 20-plus yards (95) while tying for fourth in fewest plays of 20-plus yards allowed (36). The Ducks' special teams has been just as effective with two blocked punts - including one returned for a touchdown - a blocked field goal, a punt return for a touchdown, two successful fake punts and multiple clutch kicking performances. Oregon's overall team grade of 93.9 by Pro Football Focus is tied for fourth-best nationally.

Historic Defensive Performance
In a game where much of the conversation leading up was focused on Texas Tech's vaunted defense, it was the Oregon defense that stole the show in a dominant performance in the CFP Quarterfinal at the Orange Bowl. Oregon's defensive dominance was fueled by a season-high four takeaways, including two interceptions and a fumble recovery by freshman DB Brandon Finney Jr. UO held TTU to just 215 total yards, including only 78 rushing yards, and limited the Red Raiders to 6-of-16 on third down and 0-of-3 on fourth down. OLB Teitum Tuioti had a career-high two sacks and OLB Blake Purchase added one as Oregon tied its postseason single-game record with four sacks.
» First shutout of the season and first since Oct. 18, 2024, at Purdue; second shutout under HC Dan Lanning.
» Fifth shutout since 2010 and seventh since 2000; 14th in program history.
» 111th consecutive win when allowing 14 points or less, improving to 9-0 this season when doing so and 26-0 under Lanning.
