Gameday Enhancements at Autzen Stadium for 2018 Season
08/27/18 | Football
There are multiple changes at Autzen Stadium this season designed to add to the already tremendous atmosphere and improve the fan experience. The parking lots will now open six hours before each game (no earlier than 7:00 a.m. for 11:00 a.m. and Noon starts), allowing fans more time to enjoy their pre-game experience while also spreading out the traffic flow into Eugene on gamedays.
Sales of beer and wine have also been expanded to the main concourse area, and the number of gameday alcohol monitors have been tripled as a component of the plan to ensure responsible alcohol consumption and reduce alcohol-related incidents. Two additional measures have been enacted in order to provide for a safer fan experience, including a clear bag policy and the elimination of the re-entry provision.
The reduction in concession prices includes a new $3 menu throughout the stadium that includes small sodas, popcorn, and corn dogs, and there are 100 new points of sale for concessions in 2018. Additionally, there is a 36 percent increase in temporary restrooms inside the stadium. There are also additional concession items on the Club Level, including a dessert case and a nacho bar.
In addition to expanded parking lot hours, the pregame atmosphere will also feature live bands before each game in the Moshofsky Center, a play area for kids featuring inflatables on Pape Field when weather permits, and the River Pig Fan Zone tailgate area in the parking lot. A bag check will be made available, as will a drop-off for any medications – labeled by name – that need to be kept cold. Additional filling stations for water bottles also will be available.
For those taking the LTD shuttle, they will now begin three hours before each game with a roundtrip fare of $5.
Also, based on a pilot program started by the Pac-12 Conference, halftime at each game beginning with Portland State week is reduced to 15 minutes from the previous length of 20 minutes.
A list of all the improvements for the 2018 season can be found below:
