
NFL #ProDucks: Week 1 Update

The opening week of the NFL season is in the books and there are currently 20 #ProDucks on the active rosters of 16 teams while two are on practice squads, one is on the Active/Non-Football Injury List and one is in the Reserve/Injured List.
DeForest Buckner made a living in the Minnesota backfield for the 49ers in a loss, De'Anthony Thomas showed his versatility by making big plays on special teams and on offense, Royce Freeman turned in a solid NFL debut and Kiko Alonso had a key interception in a Miami win.
Chicago Bears – Week 1: at Green Bay – L, 24-23; Week 2: vs. Seattle, Monday, 5:15 p.m. (ESPN)

- OL Kyle Long got the start at right guard and played all 70 offensive snaps. Long was named to Pro Football Focus' Team of the Week after grading out at 81.4.
- OL Jake Fisher earned playing time off the bench at tackle.
- CB Terrance Mitchell got the start at corner and turned in a solid game, making six solo stops while breaking up a pass.
- S Tyree Robinson did not play in the season opener.
- RB Royce Freeman became the first rookie to start at running back for the Broncos since Terrell Davis in 1995 and ran for 71 yards on 15 carries. Freeman delivered some clutch runs down the stretch, picking up two first downs and running for 37 yards on Denver's final drive to help put the game away.

- RB LeGarrette Blount started at running back but couldn't get much going, finishing with four carries for minus-3 yards.
- OL Tyrell Crosby did not play.
- CB Arrion Springs is currently on the Chiefs' practice squad.
- WR De'Anthony Thomas showed his versatility, catching a one-yard touchdown pass in the third quarter and forcing a fumble on a punt that led to another touchdown. Thomas also returned two kickoffs for 33 yards and made a tackle on special teams.

- CB Troy Hill saw time on special teams but did not record any statistics.
- TE Johnny Mundt also was used on special teams but recorded no statistics.
- LB Kiko Alonso recorded six solo stops and had an interception in the third quarter that led to a Dolphins' field goal to give them a 10-3 lead.

- RB Kenjon Barner signed with the Patriots on Tuesday after getting released by Carolina following the preseason.
- S Patrick Chung made four tackles, three solo, and played all but one defensive snap while also seeing time on special teams.
- C Max Unger started at center and played all 64 snaps, helping lead the Saints to 475 yards of total offense. Unger has now started 50 of his 51 games since arriving in New Orleans and has started 21 in a row.
- RB Jonathan Stewart gained eight yards on two carries
- DL Haloti Ngata played but did not record any statistics, getting in on 17 defensive snaps while also seeing time on special teams.
- LB Joe Walker was signed to the Eagles' practice squad on Sept. 4 after being waived following the preseason.
- DL Arik Armstead started at defensive end and recorded five tackles, three solo, including one for loss in addition to a quarterback hit. Armstead missed most of the preseason and training camp with a hamstring injury and the second half of 2017 with a shoulder injury, but showed no signs of rust in his first regular season action since Week 6 last year.
- DL DeForest Buckner had a monster game, recording 2.5 sacks and seven tackles, three for loss, and three quarterback hits.

- TE Ed Dickson is on the Active/Non-Football Injury List with a groin injury.
- DL Dion Jordan broke up a pass and registered a quarterback hit in his first action of the year after missing all of the preseason with a leg injury.
- QB Marcus Mariota went 9-of-16 for 103 yards and threw two interceptions before sustaining an elbow injury in the third quarter. His status is uncertain heading into Week 2.
- RB Byron Marshall was placed on the Reserve/Injured List prior to Week 1 with an ankle injury.
