Schyllander Adds Five-Star Vandecasteele
11/15/19 | Men's Tennis
EUGENE, Ore. – Head coach Nils Schyllander has announced the addition of five-star standout Quinn Vandecasteele to the University of Oregon men's tennis team. With his signing, Vandecasteele will join the Ducks ahead of the 2020-21 season.
"We are very excited to add a player the caliber of Quinn to our program," head coach Nils Schyllander said. "Quinn has already accomplished so much at the junior level and throughout his prep career, and we can't wait to see him grow even more during his Oregon career. It's a good day for the Ducks."
Vandecasteele is currently ranked as the No. 19 player in the Dunlop RPI system, and has been rated as high as the No. 33 national prospect in the Head recruiting system. He also comes to Oregon as the top-ranked player in Utah and Mountain region.
In his most recent outing at the Atlanta ITF event in October, Vandecasteele advanced to the round of 16 in singles play and as a semifinalist in the doubles draw.
Over the past year, the Murray, Utah, native has tallied a 40-16 record including a 27-7 mark against four- and five-star recruits around the country. He was also a quarterfinalist at the Zimmerman/Johnson USTA National Tournament in September and played in the doubles final at the USTA Boys' 18 National Clay Court Championships in July.
Vandecasteele was also a Boys' 16s finalist at the 2018 National Indoor Championships.
He will be joining his brother and current UO freshman Luke Vandecasteele on the Ducks' roster.
