EUGENE, Ore. – Fresh off a dominating 56-24 win at USC Saturday night, Oregon held its position at No. 7 in the Associated Press Top 25 on Sunday. The Ducks moved up one spot to No. 7 in the Amway Coaches Poll unveiled earlier in the morning.
Oregon has won eight consecutive games and 11 of their last 12 under second-year head coach Mario Cristobal. The 6-0 start to Pac-12 play is the program's first since 2012, while eight-game conference win streak is the longest since Oregon's run of 10 straight from the end of 2011 into 2012.
After falling behind 10-0 to the Trojans, Oregon outscored USC by a combined 42-7 in the second and third quarters. Senior quarterback Justin Herbert bounced back from an uncharacteristic first quarter by completing 18-of-19 passes with three TDs over the final 45 minutes. All three of Herbert's TD passes came in the second half and all three went to senior wide out Juwan Johnson who finished with seven catches for 106 yards.
Oregon improved to 3-0 on the road this season and has won four consecutive Pac-12 road games dating back to last season. In their three conference road wins this season, the Ducks have outscored their opponents 56-20 in the second half.
The Pac-12 was one of three conferences with two teams in the AP top 10. The Ducks are joined by Utah at No. 8.
Oregon will return from its bye week by hosting Arizona on Saturday, Nov. 16, at Autzen Stadium. A kick time has yet to be determined.
