Gueant in Top 10 at Saint Mary's Invitational

PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. – For the second straight day, sophomore Tom Gueant shot a season-low round, this time recording a 2-under 69 to move into a tie for ninth after round two of the Saint Mary's Invitational at Poppy Hills Golf Club. Oregon is 11 over for the tournament after shooting 8 over Tuesday, and are tied for 11th.
How it Happened: Gueant was 2 over through five, starting with four pars and a double bogey, but again heated up as he made the turn. A day after making three straight birdies to close his front nine, he birdied three of his final four holes before the turn to shoot 34 going out. The sophomore carded two bogeys but made three birdies, including the par-5 18th, to shoot 1 under on the back nine.
Nate Stember turned in a steady round of 1-over 72 and is tied for 52nd. He went out in even-par 35 with birdies at four and nine while making two bogeys before carding just one bogey and eight pars on the back nine.
Yin Ho Yue shot a 3-over 74, highlighted by birdies at the par-5 ninth and 18th holes, and is tied for 47th at 3 over. In just his second collegiate round, freshman Gian Luca Martinez shot an even-par 71 playing as an individual, making six birdies on the day.
