Ducks Announce 2020 Signing Class

EUGENE, Ore. – Oregon head coach Chelsea Gamble Hoffmann and staff announced the signing of eight to national letters of intent for the Class of 2020 Tuesday. The class includes four midfielders, two attackers, a defender and a goalie, while the eight signees come from seven different states.
"We are thrilled to welcome these eight talented student-athletes into the Oregon Family," said Gamble Hoffman. "Our program is adding athletic, skilled and committed lacrosse players who will each help our program build a strong culture and propel us toward our program goals."
Gianna Cameron, Goalie, Franklin, Mass. (Franklin HS)
Named a US Lacrosse All-American as a junior … Selected to the Wellesley Daily News all-star team … A Boston Globe All-Scholastic selection … A HockomockSports First-Team selection … Made 161 saves while allowing just 6.9 goals per game, saving 50.8 percent of shot attempts … Helped lead Franklin High School to a state third-round appearance and a 20-4 record … Earned US Lacrosse All-American honors as a sophomore.

Lindsay Clarke, Attacker, Parkton, Md. (Hereford HS)
Helped lead Hereford High School to a Baltimore County title and a Maryland Class 2A state title appearance as a junior … Scored eight goals while recording an assist in a 20-9 win in the Baltimore County title game … Found the net twice in the state title game loss … A three-year letterwinner at Hereford.

Haley Cummins, Midfielder, Street, Md. (C. Milton Wright HS)
Helped lead C. Milton Wright High School to a state title game appearance as a junior … Finished with three assists and a goal in the state championship game … Represented the Baltimore region at the 2017 Under Armour Underclass Tournament … Part of C. Milton Wright's state runner-up team as a freshman in 2017 … Also a standout in cross country … Won the Maryland 3A state title as both a freshman and sophomore.

Katie Freeman, Attacker, Lake Oswego, Ore. (Lake Oswego HS)
Earned first-team OGLA All-State honors as a junior in 2019 … Selected first-team All-Three Rivers League … Scored 48 goals while dishing out 14 assists and causing 13 turnovers … Named one of five players to watch in the west region by US Lacrosse Magazine heading into her junior season … A US Lacrosse All-American selection as a sophomore … Received first-team OGLA All-State honors … A finalist for the 2018 Oregon Prep Lacrosse Girls Player of the Year Award … Led the team and finished fifth in the Three Rivers League with 52 goals while causing 28 turnovers and scooping up 35 ground balls … Finished with 20 assists and won 55 draw controls … Named MVP of the 2018 OGLA state title game after recording a hat trick with an assist, three ground balls and four draw controls in a 12-8 win … Selected second-team OGLA All-State as a freshman … Scored 45 goals with 17 assists and picked up 36 ground balls.

Nakeeya McCardell, Midfielder, Missouri City, Texas (The Kinkaid School)
Earned Texas Girls High School Lacrosse League all-state honors as a junior … Named first-team All-Southwest Preparatory Conference … Helped lead Kinkaid to a SPC league title and a TGHSLL Division 1 state title game appearance … A TGHSLL Division 1 all-state selection as a sophomore … Key part of Kinkaid's state runner-up team … Also a standout in basketball … Daughter of former NFL wide receiver Keenan McCardell.

Morgan McCarthy, Midfielder, Pawling, N.Y. (Pawling HS)
Has 295 goals and 59 assists over the first three years of her high school career … Earned special recognition from the Poughkeepsie Journal as a junior … Scored 102 goals while dishing out 15 assists … Turned in 14 six-goal performances while scoring multiple times in every game … A first-team all-league selection as a sophomore … Named to the Hudson Valley Sports Report's Dream Team as a sophomore … Finished season with 92 goals and 13 assists … Named a first-team all-star by the Poughkeepsie Journal as a freshman … Set a program single-season record for points with 132, scoring 101 goals and recording 31 assists.

Sydnie Soto, Defense, Carver, Minn. (Chanhassen HS)
A second-team all-metro selection by the Minneapolis Star Tribune as a junior … Scored seven goals in a win over Stillwater in April … Scored 46 goals while recording 17 assists, finishing with 63 points … Recorded nine hat tricks, including two six-goal games … Helped lead Chanhassen High School to a school-record 14 wins and a section runner-up finish … Named one of the Minneapolis Star Tribune's metro area players to watch prior to junior season … A three-year letterwinner at Chanhassen High School.

Mara Zajac, Midfielder, San Diego, Calif. (Scripps Ranch HS)
A second-team All-CIF San Diego Section selection as a junior … Helped lead Scripps Ranch High School to a CIF San Diego Section Open Division title … Selected first-team All-CIF San Diego City Section as a sophomore … Scored 27 goals and recorded eight assists while scooping up 37 ground balls and causing 12 turnovers … Picked up 53 ground balls and caused 10 turnovers while scoring 13 goals and dishing out nine assists as a freshman … A three-year letterwinner at Scripps Ranch High School.
