Postseason Begins at MPSF Meet in Seattle

EUGENE, Ore. – For a fourth time this indoor season, the Ducks are headed to Seattle for this weekend's MPSF Championships. The two-day meet begins Friday at Dempsey Indoor and will be streamed live by FloTrack. The meet will serve as Oregon's final tune-up for the NCAA Indoor Championships (March 8-9) in Birmingham, Ala.
Last Time Out
The Men of Oregon made the most of last-chance weekend with four sub-4:00 miles and a top-10 DMR effort in Seattle. With their efforts, Charlie Hunter, James West and Blake Haney currently sit fifth, sixth and 15th, respectively, on this season's NCAA performance list. In the DMR, the quartet of West, Jacob Miller, Reed Brown and Cooper Teare combined for a time of 9:28.6 which ranks No. 8 nationally.
Moving Up the Ranks
In the Week 5 USTFCCCA release, the women are up to No. 3 and the men move up to No. 10, season highs for both teams. Oregon is one of three programs in the country—Florida, LSU—with both men's and women's teams in the top 10.
That's Six
With Saturday's mile at the UW Last Chance (Feb. 16), the Men of Oregon have six sub-4:00 milers this season. Four of those times currently rank inside the NCAA top 16.

Returning Champs
Carmela Cardama Baez (5,000m) and Rhesa Foster (long jump) each turning in first-place performances at last year's MPSF meet. In her race, Cardama Baez registered a personal best of 15:55.00 to win. Foster enters the weekend ranked No. 6 in the long jump this season.
