Ducks Win in the Windy City

The Oregon women’s tennis team won its final five singles matches to claim a 5-2 victory over Illinois-Chicago Friday.
CHICAGO, Ill. – The Oregon women's tennis came from behind to claim a 5-2 victory over Illinois-Chicago on Friday.
How It Happened: Oregon (4-2) posted a successful comeback campaign in the Windy City, winning the final five singles matches to secure the victory.
Despite a commanding 6-1 win for Oregon at number one doubles, Illinois-Chicago (2-4) claimed the doubles point after narrowly winning at both the number two and number three spots.
The Flames took a 2-0 lead with a win at the number six singles before the Ducks started to rally.
Sophomore Paiton Wagner was the first to put the Ducks on the board, claiming a 6-2, 6-1 win at the number four spot. Rifanty Kahfiani followed shortly behind Wagner with a straight-set victory of her own, 6-3, 6-2.
Daniela Nasser was next to finish, claiming another point for the Ducks after taking down her opponent, 6-1, 6-4.
Freshman Allison Mulville clinched the match for Oregon in a 6-4, 6-4 victory.
Senior Shweta Sangwan finished out the match for the Ducks with a solid 6-4, 6-1 win at the top spot.
Notable: Allison Mulville has yet to lose in an Oregon uniform, winning her first four matches as a Duck … With both their wins today, Seniors Daniela Nasser and Shweta Sangwan have the ninth-most career wins in UO history with 60, passing Lindsay Bartlett (1981-84).
