Notes: Ducks Host Arizona on Senior Night
03/01/19 | Men's Basketball
Oregon hosts Arizona Saturday on Senior Night at Matthew Knight Arena (7 p.m., ESPN2).
THE STARTING 5
• 1 – Oregon will honor four seniors in postgame ceremonies, managers Nick Ruiz and Brian Jones, guard Ehab Amin and forward Paul White. Ruiz (Kansas City, Mo.) and Jones (Sacramento, Calif.) have both been with the team for the last three seasons. Amin (Alexandria, Egypt), is one of just four active players in the NCAA with 1,000 career points, 500 career rebounds, 200 career assists and 200 career steals. White (Chicago), who graduated from Oregon last year, is averaging a career-best 10.5 ppg.
• 2 – The Ducks' win over Arizona State Thursday night was the 226th over the last nine seasons, which ties the school record for wins over a nine-year span - a mark set just last year. Under Dana Altman, Oregon is averaging 25.1 wins per season.
• 3 – Junior guard Payton Pritchard will be making his 100th consecutive start for the Ducks on Saturday. Pritchard came off the bench his first four games as a freshman before moving into the starting lineup for the last 99.
• 4 – During the Dana Altman era, Oregon has a 54-24 record (.692) during the second half of Pac-12 play. Only Arizona, with 57 wins, has won more games than Oregon in the back half of league play during that span.
• 5 – Freshman Francis Okoro returned to the starting lineup the last two games and posted a career-best 10 rebounds Thursday night against Arizona State. Okoro also scored seven points against ASU.
• BENCH – The Feb. 6 win against Cal moved Dana Altman into the NCAA's top 30 in all-time Division I coaching victories. He currently has 636 career wins at the Division I level, which is now two ahead of Hugh Durham and Norm Sloan. The next coach Altman will pass on that list is John Wooden, who had 664 wins at Indiana State and UCLA.
• 5 – Oregon is 15-2 when shooting a better percentage from the field than opponents, but only 1-10 when the opposition shoots a better percentage.
