Top-3 Rematch Set for Final Home Meet

The No. 2 Oregon acrobatics and tumbling team hosts No. 3 Azusa Pacific for a top-three ranking matchup and season rematch in its last home meet on Saturday.
Eugene, Ore. - The No. 2 Oregon acrobatics and tumbling team returns home for its last home meet of the season after a two-week hiatus in a rematch against No. 3 Azusa Pacific inside Matthew Knight Arena on Saturday, March 30, at 5:00 p.m.

Compulsory – The Ducks have a seven-straight win streak and overall record of 15-1 over the Cougars. Oregon defeated Azusa Pacific by just over one point, 280.900-279.875, on the road in its last meet on March 12. The Ducks' team score of 280.900 marked a season-best.
Acro – Senior Casi Jackson received NCATA Athlete of the Week honors for the second time in her career following UO's win at Azusa Pacific. Jackson competed in 11 heats and the team event and led the Ducks to nine scores of 9.50 or higher. Her performance was highlighted by a score of 9.80 in the aerial pass of the tumbling event. She also helped the Ducks to a 9.90 in the compulsory toss, scores of 9.85 in the compulsory and six-element pyramids and a 9.80 in the five-element acro heat.
Pyramid – Two others Ducks have earned NCATA Athlete of the Week honors this season. Sophomore Addie Lacewell was named the NCATA Athlete of the Week for the first time in her career on Feb. 21 after her performance in Oregon's win over then-No. 3 Quinnipiac. Lacewell competed in five of the six events and in 10 different heats at Quinnipiac, helping the Ducks to their first perfect-10 of the season in the compulsory toss. Sophomore Yeelena Faustino also earned her first career NCATA Athlete of the Week honors on March 1 after leading the Ducks to a 277.755-247.745 victory over Arizona Christian. Faustino helped Oregon to a trio of perfect-10's in the compulsory pyramid, compulsory toss and five-element acro heats.
Toss - Oregon remained at No. 2 in the latest NCATA ranking on March 27, after initially being ranked second in the preseason poll. The Ducks are 4-1 so far this season with a scoring average of 275.959. UO has faced four other ranked opponents in 2019, defeating No. 3 Azusa Pacific, No. 4 Quinnipiac and No. 7 Hawaii Pacific and falling only to No. 1 Baylor.
Tumbling – The Ducks put up two season-high scores in the tumbling and team events at Azusa Pacific on March 12. Oregon earned a tumbling score of 56.950 after registering four season-best heat scores in the duo pass, quad pass, aerial pass and open pass. Senior Hannah Blair registered the highest score of the event with a 9.90 in the open pass. The Ducks went on to earn a 98.40 in the team event, improving from their previous season-best of 95.43.
Team – Oregon will honor its seven seniors during Saturday's meet against Azusa Pacific. TJ McCourt, Megan Barney, Hannah Blair, Casi Jackson, Samantha Little, Caroline Matos and Tia Thomas will be performing in their final meet at MKA.
TEAMMATE TO COACH
Taylor Galvin transitioned from teammate to coach this season. Galvin was named Oregon's new assistant coach on July 31, 2018, after graduating from Oregon in June 2018. She helped the Ducks to reach the NCATA Championships three times, while compiling a 31-13 career record over that span. Galvin was a three-time All-American (2016-18), two-time open tumbling champion and two-time six-element tumbling pass national champion (2016 & 2017). She captured her second open tumbling national title in 2018 behind a perfect score of 10.00. As a senior, Galvin was twice named the NCATA Athete of the Week.
POLL POSITION
The Ducks are ranked second in the latest NCATA National Championship Team Rankings. The rankings, released on March 27, show where the teams stand in terms of postseason seeding heading into the final weeks of competition. Final rankings and NCATA tournament seeding will be released on Monday, April 15.
NCATA National Championship
The NCATA National Championship will be held at Baylor University in Waco, Texas, from April 25-27. Tickets are currently on sale on thencata.org.
SCOUTING REPORT
The No. 3 Azusa Pacific Cougars hold a record of 4-1 this season, losing only to No. 2 Oregon on March 12. The Cougars defeated Arizona Christian twice in February and outscored ranked opponents No. 7 Hawaii Pacific and No. 10 King in March. Azusa Pacific is led by head coach Colleen Kausrud, who is her eighth year as APU's head coach.

Since the NCATA's inception in 2010, the Ducks have won four of eight NCATA National Championships. In that eight-year span, UO tallied a 70-15 meet record, including a total of 46 individual event titles.
