STANFORD, Calif. – Oregon got steady play across the board to shoot 7 over and be in a tie for fifth place after round one of The Goodwin Thursday at Stanford Golf Course. Ryan Gronlund led the way once again for the Ducks, shooting an even-par 70, while the players who's scores counted combined to make just one double bogey.

He bogeyed 11 but got the shot back at the par-5 16th with a birdie to get to 1 under. Gronlund got to 2 under after a birdie at the difficult par-4 second, but made bogeys at holes four and six to finish the day even par.
Kevin Geniza grinded out a 2-over 37 on the back nine to start his day, making three bogeys and a birdie. He birdied the par-5 first hole, but gave the shot back on hole two with a bogey. Geniza closed strong though, making a birdie at the par-4 ninth hole to finish with a 1-over 71.
