Back Home, Into Pac-12 Play Against Utah
03/29/19 | Men's Tennis
EUGENE, Ore. – With a little over two weeks since its last match, the No. 31 University of Oregon men's tennis team is back home Sunday to host Utah. First serve is set for 11:30 a.m. (PT) at the Student Tennis Center. The Ducks are 13-2 overall with a 1-0 mark in Pac-12 play and remain undefeated (10-0) on their home courts this year.

Oregon host a Utah team that sits at 13-6 entering the weekend; the Utes play at Washington on Friday. In the March 19 ITA player rankings, senior Thomas Laurent was up to No. 4 in the country. He leads the team with a 21-3 record in singles play and is up to 96 career victories. Laurent is joined by sophomore Emmanuel Coste (No. 125) in the most recent poll.

The Ducks also have two top-70 doubles teams and will look to snap a four-match slide of losing the opening point. Utah has a pair of ranked players on its roster in No. 42 Dan Little and No. 111 David Micevski, both seniors for the Utes.

Last Time Out
The Ducks had their 10-match winning streak snapped with a 4-3 road loss at UCSB (March 15). Oregon picked up three wins in singles play including a three-set win by Laurent over No. 13 Nicolas Moreno. The win was Laurent's 10th over a ranked opponent this season. Riki Oshima and Joshua Charlton were winners on courts four and five, respectively.

Charlton enters Sunday's match with a 17-3 overall record this year including victories in 13 straight. He is undefeated in dual play. Laurent carries an 11-match streak into the weekend while Oshima and Ty Gentry have each won nine of their last 10 outings.
