Steer Extends Hitting Streak in Loss

How it happened: Steer singled up the middle to extend his streak a day after breaking the modern era record for hits in consecutive games.
The hit sparked a four-run rally capped by a Taylor Adams grand slam.
The rally came too late as Stanford (26-6, 12-2 Pac-12) jumped on the Ducks (22-15, 7-7 Pac-12) early scoring five runs in the top of the first inning before adding 11 more runs in the fifth and sixth innings. The Cardinal also scored single runs in the third and seventh innings and got two more in the top of the ninth.
Gabe Matthews got the Ducks on the board with a solo home run onto the top of the Player Development Area beyond the Ducks' bullpen in right field in the top of the fourth inning.
Stanford hitters combined to hit five home runs in the game setting a PK Park record for homers by a team in a game.

On deck: Oregon and Stanford wrap up the three game series on Saturday at 12:05 p.m. Freshman Tyler Frazier (0-1, 4.57) will get the start for the Ducks, while Erik Miller (4-0, 2.43) will pitch for the Cardinal.
