Yi, Yue Earn Pac-12 Honors

EUGENE, Ore. – Yin Ho Yue was named to the Pac-12 Conference All-Freshman Team while senior Edwin Yi earned second-team all-conference recognition Wednesday. Senior Ryan Gronlund was selected honorable mention all-conference and Craig Ronne received honorable mention all-freshman recognition.
Yue came on strong during the spring, playing in the final six tournaments, five as a part of the lineup, posting a 72.68 scoring average. The Hong Kong, China native posted three top-20 finishes in the last five events, highlighted by a 14th-place finish at the Western Intercollegiate and a pair of tied for 16th finishes at the Bandon Dunes Championship and the Pac-12 Championships.
Yi led the team in scoring average at 71.60 and turned in strong play throughout the fall and first half of the spring. He opened the season with a third-place finish at the Maui Jim Intercollegiate in September before beginning the spring by coming in tied for second against an elite field at the Amer Ari Invitational. The Beaumont, Calif. native had three other top-15 finishes before playing through injuries down the stretch.
Yue is the fifth Oregon player to be named to the Pac-12 All-Freshman team, joining Daniel Miernicki (2009), Thomas Lim (2014), Aaron Wise (2015) and Norman Xiong (2017). Yi earned second-team all-conference honors for the second time in his career after receiving that recognition as a sophomore in 2017.
Gronlund finished with five top-10 finishes and a win at the Duck Invitational. He capped off his season with a tied for 10th place finish at the Pac-12 Championships and was second on the team with a 71.74 scoring average. Ronne played in nine tournaments as a freshman and recorded a top-10 finish at the Saint Mary's Invitational in November, when he came in third.
