Ducks Grind Out Top-25 Road Win
Oregon bounced back from a tough loss at Arizona State with a top-25 road win over then-No. 18 Arizona last Sunday, grinding out a 71-64 victory behind 54 combined points from its big three of Sabrina Ionescu, Ruthy Hebard and Satou Sabally. Ionescu extended her NCAA all-time record with her 22nd career triple-double and fourth this season with 17 points - including 11 in the fourth quarter - 10 rebounds and 10 assists, while Hebard (below) notched her 47th career double-double with team-highs of 19 points and 14 rebounds. Sabally enjoyed a breakout game with 18 points, fueled by a career-best 9-of-10 day at the free-throw line.

Series History
Stanford holds a 54-10 advantage over the Ducks in the all-time series entering Thursday's game. The Cardinal won 24 of 25 from 2005 through the 2017-18 regular season, but the Ducks broke through on 3/4/18 with a 77-57 victory to win the program's first-ever Pac-12 Tournament title. No. 3 Oregon dominated then-No. 11 Stanford last season at Maples Pavilion, 88-48, on 2/10/19, handing the Cardinal their worst-ever home loss under legendary head coach Tara VanDerveer. The Cardinal avenged that loss on 3/10/19 with a 64-57 win in the Pac-12 Tournament title game, the last meeting between the two teams.
About #3 Stanford
One of four teams - along with the Ducks - to be ranked No. 1 in the AP poll this season, Stanford is off to a 4-0 start in Pac-12 play and 15-1 overall, with the lone hiccup a 69-64 road loss at Texas on 12/22/19. The Cardinal are led by the trio of Lexi Hull (12.9 PPG), Kiana Williams (12.7 PPG) and Haley Jones (11.8 PPG), the Pac-12 freshman of the week for the third time this season. Stanford is No. 19 in the nation in scoring offense (78.5 PPG) and No. 41 nationally in scoring defense (57.4 PPG).
Ducks Unable To Hold On in Tempe
Oregon took a 10-point lead into the fourth quarter on 1/10/20 in Tempe, but the Ducks were unable to hang on as Arizona State used a 30-14 advantage in the fourth quarter to pull off the upset, 72-66. Sabrina Ionescu nearly carried the Ducks to victory with a season-high 24 points and 10 rebounds, Ruthy Hebard finished with 13 points and nine rebounds, and Satou Sabally added 10 points. Arizona State's comeback win was fueled by a 14-0 run midway through the fourth quarter.
Ionescu, Moore Lead Dynamic Offense
The Ducks boast one of the nation's most dynamic and efficient offenses, which is navigated by senior guards Sabrina Ionescu and Minyon Moore (below). Oregon leads the NCAA with a 1.75 assist-to-turnover ratio, with Moore ranking second nationally at 4.31 and Ionescu sixth at 3.15. The Ducks are second in the country with 21.4 assist per game behind Ionescu's NCAA-leading 8.6 APG, and Moore is second on the team at 4.6 APG. UO leads the Pac-12 and is No. 11 nationally with 12.2 turnovers per game.

Shooting The Lights Out
Oregon is among the nation's most efficient shooting teams entering Thursday's game, ranking No. 2 in the NCAA with a 50.1 field goal percentage. One of the biggest factor's in Oregon's efficiency has been its dominance in the paint, where the Ducks own a 278-point advantage and have outscored their opponents every game so far, including a 56-16 advantage over Colorado and a 50-18 advantage against Utah. Ruthy Hebard has elevated Oregon's field goal percentage a great deal as the senior post ranks No. 3 in the nation individually with a 68.7 shooting percentage.
Ramping Up The Defensive Intensity
The Ducks are clearly one of the nation's premiere offensive teams, but they have made it a point over the last several games of turning up the intensity on the defensive end as well. Oregon has held seven of its last eight opponents under 65 points, including three to 46 points or less, and have recorded 74 total steals and 25 blocked shots while forcing 132 total turnovers over the last eight games. The Ducks' defensive improvement was sparked by a new three-quarter court press implemented during the South Dakota State game, when the Ducks held the Jackrabbits to just 37.2 percent shooting while forcing 13 turnovers, including 10 in the first half. Oregon matched its season-high with 21 forced turnovers in its Pac-12 opener against Colorado, and the Ducks are up to No. 34 nationally in scoring defense at 56.7 PPG allowed.
Ducks Boast Improved Depth
Depth was one of Oregon's biggest issues in 2018-19, but the Ducks' bench is much deeper in 2019-20. Jaz Shelley has come on in a big way, erupting for 32 points and a UO record 10 three-pointers on 12/16 against UC Riverside after a 17-point game on 12/14 at Long Beach State. Taylor Chavez has matched Shelley with four double-figure scoring games, headlined by a career-high 25 points on 11/13 vs. Utah State. Lydia Giomi is averaging 4.8 points and 3.3 rebounds off the bench and had a career-high 18 points in the season-opener, and Holly Winterburn was the Pac-12 freshman of the Week on 12/9 after dropping 17 points against South Dakota State. As a team, Oregon has already had nine different players combine for 55 double-digit scoring performances.
Ionescu Reaches 900 Career Assists
Sabrina Ionescu continued her year of milestones with another big one in UO's win over Colorado on 1/3/20. With seven assists, the senior superstar hit 900 even for her career to become just the 12th player in the history of NCAA women's basketball to join the 900 assists club. Ionescu enters Thursday's game with 921 career assists, tied for No. 9 on the NCAA WBB all-time list.

Hebard Joins 2K Club
Ruthy Hebard reached a big milestone on 1/3/20 against Colorado, becoming just the fifth player in Oregon history to surpass 2,000 career points, along with teammate Sabrina Ionescu. Hebard enters Thursday's with 2,051 points, and she is the only active NCAA player to have 2,000+ career points and 1,000+ career rebounds (1,129). Hebard is one of only 12 players in Pac-12 history to reach the 2,000/1,000 milestone, and she and Ionescu are two of just three active 2,000-point scorers in the nation.
