Ducks Fall to Long Beach State, 5-2

LONG BEACH, Calif. – The Ducks couldn't overcome an early deficit, falling to Long Beach State, 5-2, on Friday.
How it Happened:
Long Beach State claimed the doubles point to take a 1-0 lead over the Ducks.
Oregon's slow start continued into singles play and Long Beach State put up the next two points.
Julia Eshet was the first to put a point on the board for the Ducks, defeating Wiktoria Rutkowska (6-3, 3-6, 7-5), but Long Beach State answered and put up its fourth point of the match to secure the victory.
Oregon's Myah Petchey finished singles play fifth, coming out victorious, defeating Zara Lennon (3-6, 6-3, 6-4) to claim Oregon's second point.
