Strong Weekend Boosts National Rankings

EUGENE, Ore. – Up six spots from last week, the Men of Oregon are ranked a season-high No. 5 in the Feb. 17 release of the USTFCCCA national rating index. Additionally, the Women of Oregon check in at No. 7 to maintain their spot among the nation's top 10.
Collectively, the Ducks produced 14 top-25 nationally ranked marks this past weekend between the Don Kirby Elite Invitational in Albuquerque, N.M., and the Husky Classic in Seattle. Overall, Oregon has tallied 24 top-25 NCAA performances through its first five meets of the indoor season (full list below).
At season's end, the top-16 declared individuals—and 12 relays—will advance to the 2020 NCAA Indoor Championships (March 13-14) at the Albuquerque Convention Center.
Among weekend highlights, the Men of Oregon were boosted by a top-15 efforts from Isaiah Griffith (triple jump), Ben Milligan (high jump), Jackson Mestler (5,000m), Luis Peralta (800m), Cooper Teare (3,000m) and James West (mile & 3,000m). Griffith, Peralta and West (mile) all won their events this past weekend.
On the women's side, the Ducks added a monster showing from senior Rhesa Foster in the long jump, and top-10 national times from Susan Ejore and Carmela Cardama Baez in the mile and 3,000 meters, respectively. Foster's winning jump of 6.57m/21-6.75 in Albuquerque ranks third in the NCAA and now stands as the No. 2 mark in UO history.
