
Ducks Win 13th Straight Behind Trio of Stellar Performances

BERKELEY, Calif. – Bay Area native Sabrina Ionescu recorded her 25th career triple-double in front of her hometown crowd, Erin Boley was deadly from three-point range and Ruthy Hebard dominated inside on Friday night to lead the No. 3 ranked Oregon women's basketball team to its 13th straight win, 93-61 over California, before a crowd of 4,518 in Haas Pavilion.
The Ducks improved to 25-2 overall and 14-1 in conference play, giving them a chance to clinch a share of the Pac-12 title with a win on Monday night at No. 4 Stanford. Oregon is seeking its third straight regular-season conference championship.
Ionescu finished with 17 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists for career triple-double No. 25, reaching the milestone before the end of the third quarter while playing in front of a large contingent of friends and family. Boley was on fire from behind the arc, going 8-of-9 for a team-high 24 points, and Hebard continued to be a double-double machine with 20 points and a game-high 15 rebounds.
How it Happened: The Ducks came out on fire as Ionescu and Boley opened the game with back-to-back three-pointers, and Boley drilled another triple to give Oregon a 15-2 lead less than four minutes in. Ionescu made it a 10-point lead with a lay-in at the 2:14 mark, but the Golden Bears kept battling and ended the quarter on a 6-0 run and to trail by just four after 10 minutes.
Oregon put its foot down in the second quarter, opening the period on a 18-0 run behind a red-hot Boley to go up by 22. The junior knocked down four three-pointers in a span of five UO baskets, making her a perfect 6-of-6 from behind the arc to start the game. Ionescu got the Ducks' lead back to 21 with a short jumper with 30 seconds left in the half before Cal answered with a bucket to make it a 19-point game at the break.
Boley opened the second half with her seventh triple of the night, and she knocked down her eighth to kick off a 13-0 run that pushed Oregon's lead to 32 midway through the third quarter. Ionescu notched her triple-double with more than two minutes remaining in the period, finishing through contact and converting a three-point play that gave her 12 points, 11 boards and 11 assists. Junior Satou Sabally enjoyed a strong quarter with 12 points on 4-of-8 shooting, helping the Ducks to a 36-point lead with 10 minutes remaining.
Oregon's bench got extended action in the fourth quarter as the Ducks finished out their 13th straight victory, with freshman Jaz Shelley scoring five points on 2-of-3 shooting and junior Lydia Giomi impressing defensively with a pair of blocks. Ionescu added five more points to round out her triple-double stat line in her final game playing in Haas Pavilion.
