Duarte, Omoruyi earn all-district honors from the NABC and USBWA
EUGENE, Ore. – Senior guard Chris Duarte was named a third-team All-American by the Associated Press on Tuesday, while Duarte and fellow senior Eugene Omoruyi both received all-District honors from the NABC and the USBWA.
This is the second-straight season that Oregon has produced an A.P. All-American. Payton Pritchard was a first team selection in 2020.
Duarte was selected to the National Association of Basketball Coaches all-District 19 and the U.S. Basketball Writers Association all-District IX first teams, while Omoruyi was a first team honoree by the USBWA and a second team pick by the NABC.
Both Duarte and Omoruyi are scoring 16.7 points per game.
One of five finalists for the Jerry West Shooting Guard of the Year Award, Duarte is one of just two players nationally averaging 16.7 points and 1.9 steals per game, while shooting 50 percent from the field. He is the only major conference player with those averages.
The Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic, native is second in the Pac-12 in steals, second in three-pointers per game (2.4) and fourth in three-point field goal percentage (.430)
Previously, Duarte was named a third-team All-American by College Hoops Today/Jon Rothstein and Basketball Times.

Omoruyi is ranked among the Pac-12's top 15 in scoring, rebounding, steals and three-point field goal percentage.
The Rexburg, Ontario, native is the only Duck to have started all 26 games this season and has scored in double figures 24 times.
Both Omoruyi and Duarte were named to the all-Pac-12 first team last week.
Seventh-seeded Oregon opens NCAA Tournament West Region play against 10th-seeded VCU Saturday at 6:57 p.m. PT (TNT).
