EUGENE, Ore. — Oregon women's lacrosse head coach Chelsea Hoffmann bolstered her coaching staff on Tuesday with the hiring of assistant coach Caitlin Prince.
Â
Prince – who spent the last three seasons as an assistant at the University of Cincinnati – will join Hoffmann's staff as the team's new offensive coordinator.
Â
"I'm so excited to welcome Caitlin Prince into our program and the Oregon Athletics community," Hoffmann said. "Her ability to teach and build relationships with student-athletes will be a tremendous asset to our staff. Can't wait for her to hit the ground running as a Duck!"
Â
Prior to going to Cincinnati, Prince spent the 2017 and 2018 seasons as an assistant coach at Duquesne, her alma mater. She started her coaching career as a development assistant at Robert Morris in 2015 and 2016 after earning degrees in sociology and communications from Duquesne in 2014.
Â
"I am thrilled to have the privilege to work within Oregon Athletics and compete in the Pac-12," Prince said. "I am grateful for the support received from Chelsea Hoffman, Lisa Peterson, and Rob Mullens in joining the Duck family. I am eager to get started in Eugene to continue providing a competitive, enhanced student-athlete experience. I am humbled to have this opportunity and so proud to be a Duck!"
Â
Prince helped lead Cincinnati to a 12-7 overall record in her first year in 2019, including a win over Temple to open the AAC Tournament. Overall, Cincinnati owned a 22-21 record in the three seasons with Prince on staff.
Â
Prince was a four-year standout at Duquesne from 2011-14, leaving as the program's No. 3 all-time scorer with 162 career goals. She scored a single-season record 62 goals as a sophomore in 2012, earning IWLCA all-West/Midwest Region second-team honors. She was an all-Atlantic-10 Conference first-team selection in both 2012 and 2014.
